Hello my fellow Philadelphians.

We are here today because you share the same belief I do – our government has been failing us and it is time we do something about it.

We see frequently in the news about the ongoing financial crisis. We hear how those in office are supposed to be helping us. We are to feel concerned about how things will get tougher in Philadelphia.

They want us to forget that things were already tough in Philadelphia before all of this happened.

They want us to believe in change while they stay the same.

Philadelphia, October 6, 2008 - With the help of Rep. Chaka Fattah, Congress passed a bill on October 3rd to not only bail out numerous Wall Street investors and executives, but also to bail out Congress itself, which nurtured (and even demanded) many of the policies that led to the present financial crisis. Unfortunately, the bill (which Rep. Fattah supported not once, but twice) is a sad testament to the hypocrisy our politicians practice by supporting certain principles on the campaign trail, while practicing the opposite behind closed doors.

Creating more and better jobs is central to building better lives for working families; but our current tax laws and business environment discourage businesses from starting and expanding here in Phil
